Parliament calling
In preparation for tomorrow, i.e. our trip to the nations capital, and the visit to my country’s embassy, Penguin (the best person in the world, my supposedly Moroccan husband who I’m not married to. Yet.), emailed Prime Minister Julia Gillard.
Apparently, he sussed out that she sometimes does a meet and greet with visitors, and since he thinks it would be interesting, he quite simply asked.
I find the request amusing, as he’s been talking about meeting the PM ever since I first mentioned going to Canberra. Naturally, I’ve also been saying that the PM is probably a busy woman who doesn’t have time for casual chats with visitors. So he tells me he mentioned his research project, and just slipped in, as a side-note, that Hillary Clinton had been very interested in talking about it.
Parliament will be in session tomorrow.
Maybe Ms Julia will be available for a visit after all?
